I usually make the big sculptural pieces and ceramic forms by hand building, or partly by using moulds.

The works sometimes originate from literature. A sentence or just a single word may lead to a whole series of works. Human relationships often serve as a motif – the life lived and its subtle nuances. It is important to preserve one´s ability to wonder. The questions that arise do not have simple answers. The questions themselves serve as stimulus for my thoughts and my hands. Quite often my motifs, suggestive of nature, are interpretations of these questions and possible answers.

In my works I try to achieve lightness in the hard and heavy material of clay.

Lately, I have been developing a three-dimensional print plate technique, which I connect with double-walled and pierced surfaces. Consequently, light and shadow are playing a more and more important role in my works.

I fire my works both in an electric kiln and a woodkiln.
